This is the sixth Dissertation Lab hosted by the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS) Center for Writing and Scholarship. The purpose of the labs is to provide dissertation fundamentals, skill building, and awareness that a dissertation is a creative process. Each lab has a PowerPoint presentation and an audio file.
One main topic is discussed in this dissertation lab:
The role of methodology in the dissertation: Methodology and methods are sometimes used interchangeably, but each serves a different function. This workshop provides an overview of the distinction between the two, the basic structure of the methodology section/chapter, and the ethics (HRRC) process for studies using human participants.
Please launch the PowerPoint document to follow along with the audio presentation.
