Formatting and Citations

In this section, you will find articles, information, and websites for quick references on proper formatting, citation, and reference style. This site follows the American Psychological Association’s (APA) 6th edition.

Purdue Owl provides is an excellent guide for APA, MLA, and Chicago formatting, though we suggest you purchase the latest edition manual for the style you are required to use for your academic work.

All three organizations also offer comprehensive information:

  • The APA has a comprehensive blog, which includes sample papers, grammar and spelling tips, citation and reference guidelines, copyright rules, paper formatting, resources and more.
  • The Modern Language Association (MLA) offers three online resources for writing tips, guidelines, and frequently asked questions.
  • The Chicago Manual of Style also offers several online resources, including an online forum, Q&A, tools, and a quick guide for citations.
